Middle East US Allies Are Close to Entering War Against Iran
Countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are said to be gradually aligning more closely with US and Israeli efforts following repeated Iranian actions that have strained their economies and raised concerns about Tehran’s potential long-term control over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
Recent measures taken by these Gulf states have reportedly strengthened Washington’s operational capabilities, including support for air campaigns and increased pressure on Iran’s financial networks. However, these steps stop short of openly committing their own forces to direct combat.
Despite publicly maintaining that they wish to avoid full-scale war, regional governments are facing mounting pressure as Iran continues to signal its intent to expand influence across the energy-rich Gulf.
As part of these shifting dynamics, Saudi Arabia has reportedly allowed US forces access to King Fahd Air Base, marking a notable shift from its earlier stance of restricting the use of its territory for strikes against Iran. This change comes amid ongoing missile and drone attacks attributed to Tehran targeting the Saudi capital Riyadh and key energy infrastructure.
Addressing the situation, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said, "Saudi Arabia’s patience with Iranian attacks is not unlimited," adding, "Any belief that Gulf countries are incapable of responding is a miscalculation."
According to reports, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is increasingly focused on restoring deterrence, with indications that a decision on entering the conflict may be approaching. One source noted, "it is only a matter of time before the kingdom enters the war."
