Gaza Bleeds: Fresh Israeli Airstrikes Kill Five Palestinians

(MENAFN) Israeli airstrikes killed at least five Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to Palestinian health officials, in a renewed outbreak of violence despite an existing ceasefire.

In central Gaza, one man was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit the Bureij refugee camp, medical sources said. A separate strike in Gaza City killed one person and left several others injured, according to medics.

Later the same day, at least three more people were killed in an airstrike in western Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, health officials at Nasser Hospital reported.

The latest deaths highlight continued instability despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement reached in October following two years of full-scale war between Israel and Hamas. Key elements of the deal—including Hamas disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli troops—have yet to move forward.

The Israeli military has not issued any immediate claim of responsibility for the strikes.
